
Usage & Etiquette
The Tampa Bay 600 GMRS repeater is open to licensed GMRS operators.
Following a few simple guidelines helps keep the repeater usable and enjoyable for everyone.
General Usage
- Use of this repeater requires a valid FCC GMRS license. If you do not already have a license, you can apply directly through the FCC.
- Identify with your callsign as required by FCC regulations (47 CFR §95.1751).
- The repeater is intended for general communication, coordination, and emergency use.
- Keep transmissions concise to allow others access.
- In emergency situations, emergency traffic has priority.
Repeater Etiquette
- Listen before transmitting to ensure the frequency is clear.
- Avoid transmitting music, sound effects, or non-voice content.
- Be courteous and respectful to all users.
- Avoid long or continuous transmissions.
- Do not intentionally interfere with other communications.
- All GMRS operations are subject to FCC rules and regulations.
